If it's to hot or you just couldn't be bothered to walk any further, for a small cost of 30 to 50 Baht you can always find a motorcycle taxi ready to take you to where you want to go.

I got a ride on a motorbike taxi today, from Patong to Rawai and back again.
The driver didn't have any way to contact him - no line or WhatsApp ... which was puzzling.

Are motorbike taxis not a thing in Thailand? I used them everywhere on Grab in Vietnam.
