Issue No 18, 30th April 2011

Hello and welcome to this issue of Phuket Travel Secrets monthly e-zine

For the first time visitor to Phuket, you are probably expecting to see beautiful beaches and lots of girly bars….

That’s true the beaches are beautiful and yes, there are lots of bars.

But, Phuket is Thailand’s largest Island and is roughly the same size of Singapore, so with an area that big there is lots of things to do and attractions to see.

To see and do everything you will need transport, you could book a tour or hire a tuk tuk , but we found the easiest way to get around Phuket is to hire a car. The cheapest way, but not always the safest is to hire a motorbike.

There are still lot of visitors traveling to Phuket at this time of the year and why not, the weather is good and it seems as though the rain that fell throughout southern Thailand a couple of weeks ago has gone. Normally the weather in May is similar to that of April, hot and dry… but like it or not, when it comes to the weather nothing is a sure thing.

The good news is that the hotels and resorts are really starting to drop their prices on room rates.

Here are just a few special offers that we found while doing a quick search for our next trip to Phuket.

Kata Poolside Resort has fantastic room rates available throughout May, these rooms are normally priced at 2,345 baht a night, for May they are priced at 918 baht a night for two people, this is equivalent to AUS$ 28.00. This resort is located within walking distance to the beach and all amenities in Kata.

The Patong Merlin Hotel have amazing 61% discounts on their standard rooms, valid until the end of October.

To see more affordable room rates check out Agoda for some great room rates.

If you have friends or family who are planning a holiday to Phuket help them stay informed with up to date room rates and travel tips, by suggesting they sign on to our RSS blog or like us on facebook.
