Wedding in Phuket

Funny sign in bar toilet on Bangla Road

My partner and I recently attended a wedding in Phuket, 15.02.2010. What a fantastic location for the Bride and Groom to tie the knot.

The wedding and reception was held on the private front lawn of the Merlin Beach Resort. This is a five star resort and they really went all out to make this a very special event.

Our stay in Phuket was from the 09.02.2010 to 19.02.2010 and we were lucky enough to be there for Valentines Day and also Chinese New Year. So we experienced lots of celebrations including fireworks most nights, Dragons roaming the streets etc.

We stayed at the Horizon Beach Resort which is in the heart of Patong beach, we found this to be a great location as you could walk to the beach. There are plenty of Eateries to choose from, loads of shopping and just a short stroll along the beach front to the famous Bangla Road, where we found ourselves most nights.

We made friends with another couple (from Perth) who were also staying at our Resort, and would meet up with them at the Parrot bar in Bangla Road to have a few drinks, people watch, mix with the locals and just have a laugh and a great time.

Of all the Holidays I have had, I would have to rate Phuket a 9 out of 10, you could make it as full on or as laid back as you want.

PS: check out the funny sign I found in one of the toilets of a bar in Bangla Road....lol...
